Proposed Timeline

The exact timing is directed by Kennesaw State University (KSU).  We will agree with KSU on a strict timeline and commit the full resources of our firm to aggressively conduct the search to meet and hopefully exceed the university’s expectations. 

  • February 14, 2018

    Objective: 
    Meeting with KSU Presidential Search and Screen Committee to discuss the search process, expectations of qualified candidates as well as position requirements, timeline, and advertising. 

    Responsibility: 
    KSU Presidential Search and Screen Committee and Parker Executive Search (PES).

    • February 26, 2018 (Kennesaw), February 27, 2018 (Marietta)

      Objective:
      Campus Listening Sessions to discuss process and expectations of qualified candidates.

      **PES will be on-site to facilitate.

      Responsibility: 
      KSU Presidential Search and Screen Committee, KSU campus community groups and PES.

      • Early March 2018

        Objective:
        Advertisements announcing the position will appear in the following:

        • The Chronicle of Higher Education
        • Diverse Issues in Higher Education
        • Women in Higher Education
        • Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education
        • Other publications as directed by Kennesaw State University
        • Kennesaw State University website
        • Parker Executive Search website

        • February 2018 – May 2018

          Objective:
          Candidate identification will proceed through advertising, correspondence, and direct recruiting by KSU Presidential Search and Screen Committee and PES to identify qualified candidates interested in this position.

          • Early March, 2018

            Objective:
            The first search update will be provided to KSU Presidential Search and Screen Committee.

            Access information to the PES secure site developed for this search will be provided at this time.

            Responsibility:

            • Late March, 2018

              Objective:
              30-45 minute Conference Call

              The second search update will be provided to KSU Presidential Search and Screen Committee via a conference call with PES. A candidate status log will be posted on the secure website.

              • Early April, 2018

                Objective:
                30-45 minute Conference Call

                The third search update will be provided to KSU Presidential Search and Screen Committee via a conference call with PES. A candidate status log will be posted on the secure website.

                • Late April, 2018

                  Objective:
                  KSU Presidential Search and Screen Committee will be provided with ALL resumes and nominations submitted for consideration to date. In addition, KSU Presidential Search and Screen Committee will receive Parker Executive Search’s recommendation of 8 (more or less) candidates who have expressed an interest in the position and who meet the required job qualifications.

                  (Access to the candidate materials on the secure website will also be available no later than 5:00 p.m. eastern.  PES will be available by phone for any questions)

                  • Late April, 2018

                    Objective:
                    4 hour Search Committee Meeting

                    KSU Presidential Search and Screen Committee may identify 8-10 (more or less) candidates to schedule for interviews. PES will facilitate on-site.

                    Responsibility:
                    KSU Presidential Search and Screen Committee and PES.

                    • May, 2018

                      Objective:
                      Please hold 2 consecutive full days for interviews.

                      KSU Presidential Search and Screen Committee may conduct initial interviews of 8 -10 (more or less) candidates.  Candidates will be scheduled by PES. Location: Atlanta, GA.

                      Responsibility:
                      KSU Presidential Search and Screen Committee and PES.

                      • May, 2018

                        Objective:
                        KSU Presidential Search and Screen Committee may select 3-5 candidates for recommendation to the USG Board of Regents for additional consideration.

                        PES will conduct extensive background investigations on final candidates, to include:

                        • Federal and US criminal checks (10 years)
                        • Credit history and motor vehicle checks
                        • Degree verification (all degrees)
                        • Sex offender search

                        PES will also conduct media reviews to identify potentially controversial areas of concern and obtain several signed authorizations regarding the accuracy of the candidate’s CV/resume and any other information provided to PES on behalf of the client.  On-list and off-list referencing by the Search Committee may begin as soon as PES has notified and received approval from the selected candidates.

                        The search firm will contact all candidates who are not selected for semi-final consideration.

                        • End May, 2018

                          Objective:
                          The Presidential Search and Screen Committee to present list of unranked candidates to Chancellor Wrigley and the Regent’s Special Search Committee.

                          Responsibility:
                          KSU Presidential Search and Screen Committee.

                          • June 2018

                            Objective:
                            Semi-finalists interview with Board of Regents with the advice and assistance of PES.

                            Responsibility:
                            USG Board of Regents.

                              Objective:
                              An offer may be extended to the selected candidate.

                              The search firm will contact all candidates who are not selected for final consideration.

                              Responsibility:

                              Chancellor Steve Wrigley and PES.

                              Parker Executive Search will work directly with Search Committee to arrange all schedules and assist in facilitating and expediting the process of candidate recommendation. The search firm will also work with Kennesaw State University to arrange final schedules and, when necessary, assist in the offer and negotiations. Background and reference checks will continue throughout the process to ensure that all parties are satisfied with the information provided on each final candidate.
